Documents exported from JBI SUMARI will not be able to be opened in Microsoft Word if they contain an invalid or illegal character. Attempting to open these exported documents may present the user with an error pop-up in Microsoft Word. It is strongly suggested, that users thoroughly double check the data they have entered into JBI SUMARI to check that it does not contain; non-ASCII characters; ETX characters, or invalid XML characters. If these characters are present in JBI SUMARI, then the resulting exported document will not be able to be opened in Microsoft Word. A good way to avoid this issue is to avoid copying and pasting data or findings straight from the source (e.g. PDF document or web-based document) into JBI SUMARI. This method frequently introduces these invalid characters into JBI SUMARI. It is suggested that this data is first moved to Microsoft Word, double checked and then pasted into JBI SUMARI. Alternatively, users can also re-write the data themselves into JBI SUMARI to ensure these characters are not introduced. |
