3.3.13 Data synthesis

As a method of analysis, meta-aggregation seeks to synthesise data (findings) from any type of qualitative research related to the phenomenon of interest. It focuses on identifying commonalities, differences and patterns across the studies. This is followed by an interpretation of the data that seeks to remain loyal to the original meaning established by the researchers who collected and analysed the data. Data synthesis involves categorising the findings and developing synthesised findings by integrating two or more categories.
