Field ERGs consist of national and/or international members with long-standing experience and expertise in a specialty field. Entry is by invitation, either by the Field Editor or the Chair of the Field. The Field ERG is commonly composed of health professionals (including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals) who have sound experience in a specialty area. They may also be individuals who are not clinicians but are affiliated with a university, or a professional or government health organisation.

Being a JBI ERG Member is an opportunity to:

  • Engage and collaborate with international experts within your field

  • Contribute to and enhance the quality of evidence-based resources within your field

  • Develop a portfolio of work that supports professional development and clinical licensing requirements

  • Be recognised as a Clinical Title Holder with the University of Adelaide (if all requirements to become a titleholder are met)

  • Access to the JBI EBP Database via special user membership (personal use only)
  • Receive a 20% discount on JBI Adelaide educational courses and conferences

Requirements and Responsibilities

Field ERG members must have expertise in the relevant field. The role of the Field ERG is integral to the development of high-quality, reliable, and relevant resources within each field. Specifically, the role and responsibilities of the Field ERG are to contribute to:

  • Development and regular revision of the Field taxonomy

  • Provide advice to JBI on topics included in a specified JBI Field

  • Contribute to the development of Recommended Practices

  • Provide advice to JBI on audit criteria topics

  • Assist Field Editors to monitor the quality of a specified Field

  • Actively contribute/assist in the promotion of a specified JBI Field

  • Provide peer review feedback on ES, RP and BPIS resources developed for the JBI Field where needed
