Mentorship within the JBIC is an opportunity for us to collectively build support systems, to create learning and development opportunities for new Entities, to improve efficiency and productivity and the passing on of corporate knowledge and leadership.

Bianca Pilla, Global Relations Manager

Introduction

JBI recognises that mentorship can be an important and effective strategy for building skills and capacity across the

JBC

JBIC. JBI believes that group mentorship can produce a wide array of positive outcomes for both mentors and mentees and contribute to group cohesion and a sense of belonging to a strong organisational identity . The

JBC

JBIC Mentorship activity is an opportunity for JBI and the

JBC

JBIC to collectively build support systems, learning and development for new and existing Entities and to improve efficiency, productivity and the passing on of corporate knowledge and leadership.

Mentorship within the

JBC

JBIC may be between:

a)  Centres of Excellence

b)  Centres of Excellence and Affiliated Groups

c) Centres of Excellence and proposed Affiliated Groups where the mentee group are preparing to join the

JBC

JBIC as an Affiliated Group

For the full the Key Performance Requirements and operational guidelines, please refer to the JBI Collaboration Handbook.

Mentorships can be initiated in a number of ways. Reaching out to Centre of Excellence Director who has similar interests to your own or are well established is encouraged, or you can contact us at the Global Engagement Office and we can endeavour to create a connection for you. If you would like our assistance please stipulate your area of need/s and email us at jbic@adelaide.edu.au

the JBIC Mentorship Registration form, which is then to be submitted to the Global Engagement Office by 30 April each year.

Mentorships can be registered from 1 - 3 years at a time, this timeframe is decided upon between the Mentor/s and Mentee/s.   The Global Engagement Office will contact the Mentor annually to ensure that the partnership is still in place, however a new registration form is only required at the end of the time stipulated on the registration form.

Please note: If you are mentoring for the purposes of helping to establish a new JBIC Entity, JBI cannot agree to a new JBIC Entity being established in a city/state that has an already established JBIC Entity. If this is the case please consider collaborating under the umbrella of the already established Entity.

NOTE: A Mentor Entity can have more than one Mentorship partnership in place, however a registration form must be completed for each of these partnerships.
